Project Description

The Web Quest of the Three Branches of Government is designed to inform students about the importance of our government roles in our daily lives.  It is also designed to promote students in using technology such as the internet to navigate the different sites, retrieve data from different sources and increase their critical thinking skills.   One primary goal in designing this Web Quests is to make the most use of instruction time. Also, another benefit is that Web Quest give students an opportunity engage in cooperative learning and enhance their knowledge. This web Quest will give students some real life examples that involve the powers and the responsibilities of each branch of the government. The study of the branches of the government will provide the students with an understanding on how our government is an important part in our daily lives. This web Quest will bring in history and technology into the classroom. The students are asked to research then produce.

Lessons Learned

The requirements of the project were to establish two instructional units which include the design document and the web quest. I had learned how to break down my design into six parts. They includes the introduction, needs assessment, the instructional strategy, the blueprints and storyboard, navigation map and the instructors guide as well as the resources. I was able to create a web quest for both the teachers and students. I plan to create websites such as this for my students.

Modifications Made

The modifications made on this project include adding a project link page to show the WebQuest and the Design Document links. I have also changed the format of the webpage by using a Web Quest Template as well as changed the design document page. I feel that with these changes, the Web Quest and the Design Document page looks more professional and appealing to the viewers. These changes allows the user to better navigate through the Web Quest than the previous design.
