Project Description

The instructional Design created in this course was to use a standard model for designing instruction to guide an instructional unit. The instructional unit followed was the Dick and Carey's Model. The requirements of the project were to establish six instructional units. They include identify instructional goal and analyze leaner and contexts, Task Analysis, Performance objectives, Instructional Materials and Evaluation.

Lessons Learned

In this course we had created six projects.  Each project was a stepping stone to creating an instructional design.  The instructional units include (IU2) Identify Instructional Goal and Analyze Learner and Contents (IU3) Task Analysis (IU4) Performance Objectives, (IU5) Instructional Materials, and (IU6) Evaluation.  In completing these instructional units, I learned that there is definitely more to getting ready to create instruction. These requirements for this project were to follow the Dick and Carey's Model to create an instructional unit.

The Evaluation aspect of the project, I had learned about the importance of feedback. I had needed to receive feedback from several sources. Those sources include an expert, small group, one to one as well as a field test. The information received was used to update handouts and lessons.  I had learned that the information received from the evaluations was critical in making a more desired design.  During each step of the project, I had learned something new.

I am now able to use the coursework to any future designs that I may need to complete such as my practicum.  I have learned that this course is important in because of the content needed to create a useful instructional design.

Modifications Made

The modifications made for this project was to change the six Instructional Units in one PDF format. This modification will allow users to see the instructional design in as one complete file as well as it being easier to view. I feel that this is the only change needed to be done.

Responsibilities
1) Leadership
  1.9 Demonstrates professional collaboration.
2) Design

2.3 Demonstrates ability to perform comprehensive task analysis of instructional objective.

2.4 Demonstrates ability to select and integrate into instruction multiple, research-based, instructional strategies
2.5 Demonstrates ability to select appropriate assessment instruments.
6) Evaluation
6.1 Demonstrates ability to use both formative and summative strategies to evaluate the quality of instruction.
6.2 – Demonstrates ability to select a variety of appropriate assessment instruments and use those instruments to assess effectiveness of instruction in meeting instructional objectives

6.3 Can document results from formative evaluations and use those results to revise instructional materials, and/or instructional development process.

6.4 Demonstrates ability to develop and implement a comprehensive needs assessment instrument that shows evidence of primarily an instructional problem or opportunity
8) Development
