Project Description

In this class, we had three presentations to create. The first presentation was to create a bibliography on a theorist listed by the instructor. The second presentation was a group presentation. This presentation was a logic game showing Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences and Collaborative/Cooperative learning. The last presentation was a learning activity. The learning activity I had presented was using Chinese Tangrams in order to challenge students. It also included how some theories from Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson and Gardener was utilized in the activity.

Lessons Learned

This course gave a unique perspective on the learning theories and the Theorist that have contributed to education.  Since my background was not in Education, I was not aware of some of these theorists and how they had an impact on education.   I found this project a little difficult because of having to match a learning activity with a theorist.  At first, I had a hard time thinking of learning activities and how they correspond with the learning theorist being discussed.  However, within time, I slowing began and completed the projects.

In the first project each classmate had presented information on the different theorist and their contribution to education. The theorist that I had chosen was John Bowlby.  I had learned about Bowlby’s attachment theory and had presented his background and his accomplishments.

The second project was a group project on Logic games.  In this project two other ladies and I was gotten together to demonstrate how Gardner’s theory of Multiple intelligences were used in this activity.  The activity had taken a previously taught concept and put it in a different format that allows a transfer of information to this group activity.  I had learned how Gardner’s multiple intelligences are used in a logic game.

The third project was an individual learning activity.  In this learning activity, I had chosen to use Chinese Tangrams.  I had learned on how the different theorist can be used to evaluate a learning activity.  Each Theorist had brought in a different perspective on how children act a certain way.

Throughout the course I had especially enjoyed learning about Gardner's multi-intelligence, Piaget's cognitive-development theory and Bowlby's attachment theory because it would benefit teachers in knowing their students as they progress from one stage to another.

Modifications Made

The modifications made on this project include adding a project link page for the purpose of having accessibility to all project created in this course. I have converted all of Projects 1, 2 and 3 into in a PDF format. Each of the projects background has been changed to make it more eye appealing to the viewers. I feel that these changes will allow viewers to print and access the desired project and that no more changes would need to be done.
